To mark the bicentenary of the invention of photography, the French Ministry of Culture is organizing a major celebration in September that will showcase both historical and contemporary work. It is hardly surprising that so much effort is being put into this, given that the pioneers of that technology were French—including the very first person to capture light, the inventor Nicéphore Niépce.
[Anecdotally, this tribute to the 200th anniversary of photography also marks the 200th episode on the channel! 🎂 Thank you for all your support.]
