In 2023, the ChĆ¢teau de Versailles is celebrating its 400-year anniversary with a full year of shows and parties on the site. Quite an appropriate hommage to the palace that has seen some of the most (in)famous historical figures, and witnessed some of the key historical moments of modern European history. Erratum: Louis XIV decided to move from the Louvre to Versailles only in 1660, not in 1623 as stipulated in the video. He was certainly omnipotent, but still wouldn't have been able to make such a decision fifteen years before his birthā¦
