Si vous ne pouvez pas acheter la maison de vos rêves, construisez-la ! C'est ce qu'a décidé Ferdinand Cheval, un facteur du sud de la France, il y a près de 150 ans. Et il l'a construite jusqu'à la dernière pierre. Il a créé un palais colossal, intégrant tous ses fantasmes et ses rêves. Il a bâti ce qu'il considérait comme le « palais idéal ». Aujourd'hui encore, on peut visiter cet édifice excentrique de la Drôme ; il est ouvert au public.
If you can't buy your dream house, just build it. That's what Ferdinand Cheval, a postman in the south of France, decided almost 150 years ago. And he built it until the last stone. He created a massive palace including each and every one of his fantasies and dreams. He made what he thought was the "ideal palace". To this day, you can still visit the eccentric building in Drôme, it is open to the public.
