Voler était depuis longtemps un rêve pour l'humanité. Pourtant, ce n'est qu'au XVIIIe siècle – le siècle des Lumières, où la science était une source de profonde fascination – que ce rêve est devenu réalité. Grâce aux frères Montgolfier qui ont découvert qu'un ballon gonflé d'air chaud pouvait s'élever au-dessus de l'air froid de l'atmosphère. Cette intuition simple mais révolutionnaire a permis aux hommes, pour la première fois dans l'histoire, de quitter le sol et de prendre leur envol.
Flying had long been a dream of humankind. Yet it was only in the 18th century—the Age of Enlightenment, when science became a source of deep fascination—that this dream turned into reality. Thanks to the Montgolfier brothers who discovered that a balloon filled with hot air could rise above the colder air of the atmosphere. This simple but revolutionary insight made it possible for humans, for the first time in history, to leave the ground and take flight.
